The Center for Microscopy and Image Analysis provides open access to a wide variety of state-of-the-art light microscopy systems for 3D imaging, time lapse experiments of living cells and organisms as well as super resolution imaging. The systems range from standard widefield and confocal laser scanning microscopes to cutting-edge super resolution systems (STED, STORM) and dedicated microscopes for imaging living organisms and tissue (lightsheet and multiphoton microscopes). A slidescanner for automated imaging of histological and fluorescent slides is also available.
The links below provide you with detailed information about the systems available at the Center for Microscopy. Our staff can advise you on the best choice of microscope depending on your experiment.
For general textbook information on light microscopy we strongly recommend the following online book link (only for UZH members): "Fundamentals of Light Microscopy and Electronic Imaging" (Douglas B.Murphy, Michael W. Davidson)
