FIB-SEM - Thermo Fisher BioHydra (Irchel)
The Thermo Fisher BioHydra is a dual beam FIB-SEM microscope that enables sample preparation for in situ electron cryotomography studies by on-grid lamellae milling, lift-out and waffle methods.
The instrument features:
- Elstar scanning electron microscopy column
- four sources of plasma (Ar, Xe, O, N) for site specific ablation of biological material
- nanomanipulator for lift-out
- incorporated fluorescent light microscope for correlative light-electron microscopy studies
